HOSUR: A new transaxle plant with a capacity to produce 1.5 lakh units per annum set up by the AVTEC Limited near Hosur was inaugurated by Mr. Michael Boneham, President and Managing Director, Ford India and Mr. A. Sankaranarayanan, Director, AVTEC on Friday. The new facility of the AVTEC has been set up at its Power Products Division at Hosur to cater exclusively to the Ford India's latest Ford Figo brand cars. With the inauguration of new facility, AVTEC has the latest technology in terms of equipment, with in-built process controls, process verification to meet the highest quality, including the state-of-the art NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness) testing facility. Supply The facility has been designed to meet the just-in-time supply requirement of the manufacturers like Ford. Mr. Prabhakar Kadapa, CEO and MD, AVTEC said that the company is the largest independent manufacturer of aggregates and components of Engines and Transmissions in India, which are supplied to Original Equipment Manufacturers It has four plants across India to support both the Automotive and Off-Highway segments. Clients AVTECs major clients are Ford, Daimler, Caterpillar, BEML, General Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors in the domestic market and Allison, Eaton, Magna and Ford Turkey in the overseas market. AVTEC has been associated with the Ford India for about seven years as a strategic supplier partner and suppliers of transaxles, he added.
