Answer us:AIADMK cadres staging demonstration in Salem on Saturday protesting against price hike in petroleum products. SALEM: Members of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) staged a demonstration near Salem Collectorate on Saturday as part of their state-wide protest against price hike in petroleum products and essential commodities. Demonstration Led by Salem MP S. Semmalai and other frontline leaders, the AIADMK cadre took out a rally also in the city from Fire Service Office at Sevvapet before resorting to demonstration at the Collectorate. Novel protest Urging the roll back of price hike in petroleum products, the cadre also came in bullock- and horse driven carts carrying motor bikes to point out that petrol had become dearer. Slogans The members raised slogan against the State and Central governments for the price hike and condemned DMK government for its ‘tacit' support to the hike in the prices of petrol and diesel. The speakers also pointed out that the ‘anti-people' state and central governments should be thrown out of power in the ensuring elections. At the suburban town of Omalur senior party leader Ponnaiyan led the agitation in a horse-driven cart and staged a demonstration. The AIADMK also staged agitations in all important towns and in Namakkal against the price hike of petrol and diesel. Similar protest was also held in Erode district.
