TIRUPATI: ‘Ugadi Asthanam' will be performed at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala on March 16 (Tuesday) heralding the Telugu New Year. The processional deity of Lord Malayappa will be placed at the golden threshold (Bangaru Vakili) and ‘Panchanga Sravanam', reading of the almanac will be done. The cleansing ritual ‘Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam' will be held ahead of the event‘Nityotsavam' will be held for 40 days starting Ugadi.
