Kochi: Union Minister of State for Agriculture K.V. Thomas said here on Sunday that the development of the Aluva and the Angamaly railway stations was closely interlinked with the development of Idukki, Muvattupuzha, Kothamangalam and Piravom. He was speaking at a function to flag off the Ernakulam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Duronto Express train. Deepak Krishan, General Manager of Southern Railway, said more MEMU services will begin once the MEMU shed got ready in Kollam. P. Rajeev, MP, expressed the fear that regular train services would become chaotic once goods trains from the Vallarpadam container terminal and the Puthuvype LNG terminal started services. Schedule The regular service of the non-stop train from Ernakulam to Nizamuddin through Konkan is scheduled from March 16. The train will begin service from Nizamuddin on March 13. As per the tentative schedule, the train will leave Ernakulam every Tuesday at 11.30 p.m. and reach New Delhi at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday. The return train will leave Delhi at 9.35 p.m. on Saturday and reach here at 3.30 p.m. on Monday.
