‘A-G not shot at by militants'
Imphal: Manipur Advocate-General Nongmeikappam Koteshwar was wounded when the licensed gun of a Minister travelling with him went off accidentally, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said on Sunday.
The 50-year-old Advocate-General, Works Minister K. Ranjit and Tribal Development Minister D.D. Thaisi were travelling in a car from Ukhrul on Saturday night, the Chief Minister said.
Mr. Thaisi, who had a licensed gun, wanted to keep it beside him, when it went off accidentally as the car was driving through the Litan area, about 33 km from here, Mr. Singh said.
Doctors removed the bullet from Mr. Koteshwar's chest , hospital sources said. — PTI
