Three employees killed in blast at NFL plant

Nangal (Punjab): Three National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) employees were killed and one critically injured in an explosion at its ammonia plant at Nangal on Saturday.

The explosion occurred around 11.40 a.m. after a gas leakage.

Senior manager Deepak Chhabra, mechanical engineer Mohinder Anand and worker Jarnail Singh were killed on the spot, NFL factory manager Kuldip Chand said in a release.

Another worker, Umesh Kumar, sustained serious burns and was taken to the DMC hospital in Ludhiana. — PTI
