Consultance Services clinched the team title in the Rotary Chennai Corporate Golf Challenge at the Madras Gymkhana Golf Course here on Saturday. The team was represented by C. Suresh Kumar and R. Shivraj, who triumphed with 76 points. A.V. Thomas Group of Companies, represented by Dilip Thomas and Sanjeev Mehra, was the runner-up. W. Anand, Rotary District Governor, distributed the prizes. The charity golf event was this year associated with the ‘Save the Tiger' campaign. As part of spreading awareness on the cause, there was a dance performance by Tiger Dancers from Orissa, and a talk by Bittu Sahgal, Editor, Sanctuary Magazine. Team winners: A.S.K. Consultance Services (C. Suresh Kumar & R. Shivraj) 76 points. Team runner-up: A.V. Thomas Group of Companies (Dilip Thomas & Sanjeev Mehra) 74. Individual: Gold division (handicap category 0-12): 1. Ravi Andasu (winner on count-back) 39; 2.: Krishna Prasad 39. Silver division (handicap category 13-24): 1.: M. Srinivasan (winner on count-back) 37; 2.: Shrenik Kumar 37. Special prizes: Longest drive: Krishna Prasad, 350 yards; Closest to pin: Gautham Moitra, 2m; Straightest drive: Rita Lingam, 2 feet; Ladies winner: Uma Hataria, 35 points on count-back. Best gross: Sanjeev Mehra (A.V. Thomas Group of Companies AVT DT) 73 .
