PUDUCHERRY: Students of Pondicherry University launched a music troupe on Sunday. The troupe, which consists of 40 members, is part of a cultural group called “Cross Roads” run by the students. The troupe members include singers, instrument players as well as organisers. The objective of the music troupe was to showcase the best talents in the university and also to provide them a platform to excel. They also plan to release a musical album, according to a press release . The troupe members were drawn from vast linguistic diversities and different departments of the university. The launch was marked by a musical evening. It was a meeting point of multilingual and potpourri of different genres of songs such as Western, Indian classical, semi classical, fusion, folk and instrumental, added the release.
