Sethi loses two matches

BANGALORE: Geet Sethi lost two matches against Rupesh Shah and Alok Kumar before finding his touch to simply outplay Sourav Kothari late on Monday afternoon on the second day of the men's billiards selection camp at the KSBA hall here.

Sethi, who had skipped the snooker camp, looked out of sorts against Shah and lost narrowly to Alok Kumar in the second.

But against Kothari the veteran was in full flow with three successive century breaks for a 101-0, 101-0, 102-10 win.

Pankaj Advani on the other hand continued his winning ways posting two more victories, against Kothari and Alok Kumar.

Three score centuries

Centuries by Ajay (111) and Ashwin (107) helped NITTE defeat SJB Institute of Technology by 43 runs in the Visveswaraiah Technological University (VTU) inter-zonal cricket tournament here on Monday.

In another match, Nishant Hegde hit 106 for MSRIT, which beat City Engineering College by 97 runs.

Easy for Friends Union CC

Friends Union Cricket Club (Mysore) registered a facile seven-wicket win over Vidyaranya CC in the KSCA Mysore Zone first division league tie played at Maharaja's college grounds in Mysore on Sunday.

The scores: First Division: Vidyaranya CC 133 in 40.5 overs (Anil Kumar 32, Kiran 31, Ramesh three for 32) lost to FUCC 134 for three in 24.1 overs (Ramesh 45, Manjunath 35 n.o.).

Second Division: Lucky Boys CC (Nanjangud) 244 in 49.1 overs (Raghavendra 43, Devraj 63, Kiran 32, Rohit five for 72) drew with Agraharam CC 207 for eight in 54 overs (Suhas 51, Syed Yasim 50, Yeshwanth four for 48).

Mysore CC 194 in 43.3 overs (Nadeemulla Shariff 75, Jairam 48, Sankreeth five for 59, Balaji four for 34) lost to Karavali Cricketers 195 for nine in 47 overs (B.M. Rahul 47, Dilip Kumar 33, Ashok Kumar four for 40).
