PUDUKKOTTAI: Two-time Olympian and World Cupper N. Mohammed Riaz knows very well the importance of hard work and commitment.

The former Indian hockey captain was keen on advocating these traits to the students of Mount Zion College of Engineering and Technology while addressing the valediction of the annual sports day here on Wednesday.

“I firmly believe that success can be achieved only through hard work.

Also do count on the support of your parents and college management,” he said.

The Arjuna awardee emphasised on discipline, terming it as an important quality.

Jayabarathan Chelliah, Chairman, Mount Zion Educational Institutions, in his presidential address, stressed the need for students doing exercise regularly to stay fit. B. Anandampilai, Principal, highlighted the achievements of students at tournaments conducted at various levels in the annual sports report.

An interaction session was a part of the function. Ruby team bagged the overall championship. Mr. Riaz gave away the prizes in the presence of Jayson Jayabarathan, Director, Jonathan P. Jayabarathan, Trustee and A. Nixon Azariah, Registrar.
