Assistant Commissioner of Police suspended

CHENNAI: The State government on Wednesday issued orders placing under suspension Assistant Commissioner of Police (Armed Reserve) Palanisamy, police sources said. The action follows a report sent to the Home Department by the Commissioner of Police based on the confessions of Charulatha, an accused who posed as a police official and cheated many youths after promising to get them jobs in the Police Department, the sources added.

Pensioners' group

Former employees of the Director General of Supplies and Disposals attached to Supply Division, Ministry of Commerce, recently formed Pensioners Welfare Association known as DGS and D South Zone Pensioners Welfare Association.

G. Ramdas, M. Sundararaman, M.L.R. Ramakrishnan, N. Madhusudhan Rao and G.S. Raghupathi have been elected office-bearers for this year.
