VISAKHAPATNAM: Four students of a Tribal Welfare Girls Hostel of Guttam Boddaputtu village of Hukumpeta mandal in the agency area of the district were allegedly gangraped by five youths. A case was registered at the Dumbriguda police station on Thursday. The victims, who were studying in 9 {+t} {+h} and 10 {+t} {+h} classes, went to the Kinchumanda shandy on March 17. They were returning to the hostel when two autorichshaw drivers of their area, offered to drop them at their hostel. The accused youths offered cool drinks, mixed with sedatives, to the girls. They later took them to a house where three other youths joined them. All the five were suspected to have gangraped the girls who offered no resistance as they were drugged. The Dumbriguda police registered cases under Sections 376 2 (G) for gang rape, 363 (kidnap) 342 (wrongful confinement) and 420 (cheating) of the IPC against all the accused. The police identified G. Chiranjeevi and S. Bhairava Murthy, autorickshaw drivers but the names of the other three accused youth were yet to be established. The accused are at large.
