Sathyamoorthy sparkles for Tigers ‘B'

Salem: A fine knock of 119 by Sathyamoorthy enabled Tigers ‘B' score a narrow four-run win over Sunil Cricket Club in the TNCA-SDCA second division league at the SSP grounds recently.

The scores: First division: Blue Star CC 220 for nine in 45 overs (M. Rajesh 55, R. Sivashankar three for 36) bt KPSC 179 in 45 overs (R. Vivek 66, K. Nagarathinam four for 34).

Second division: Maratha CC 229 in 40 overs (M. Riyaz 85, N. Rajkumar 45, Gopi three for 26) bt Free Birds CC 156 in 40 overs (V. Veeramalai 76, Y. Mubarak three for 20); Tigers ‘B' 291 for seven in 45 overs (Sathyamoorthy 119, Lavan three for 32) bt Sunil CC 287 for six in 45 overs (Kamaludin 83).

Third division: Chemplast CC 163 in 45 overs (C. Barathraj 48, R. Ramajayam four for 16, S. Sankar three for 24) lost to SCC 164 for seven in 26 overs; GEC 189 in 45 overs (S. Arul 93, Venkatachalapathi four for 30, Palani three for 25) lost to Kannan MCC 190 for eight in 44 overs (Venkatesan 49, S. Venkadesan four for 30) .

Anna University athletic meet

The Anna University (Coimbatore Zone 1) athletic meet, organised by the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, will be held at the CIT College Sports Complex, Coimbatore, from March 31 to April 2.

Ball badminton tourney

CIT's 18th district-level ball badminton fives tournament for men for the Mahendra Trophy will be held at the CIT courts on April 3 and 4.

The tournament is open to all clubs, schools and colleges in Coimbatore.

Cricket camp

The RKS Cricket Academy will conduct its 12th summer coaching cricket camp at the R.K. Sree Rangammal Kalvi Nilayam HSS on Avinashi Road from April 14 to May 13.
