Athletics
KOCHI: The trials to select the Kerala athletics teams for the Youth National, Senior Federation Cup, National Open and Junior Federation Cup will be held at the Maharaja's Stadium here on April 6 and 7. The Youth National will be held in Coimbatore from April 23 to 25 and athletes born between January 1 1993 and December 31 1994 are eligible. The Youth National will also be a trial for the Asian Area Qualification Championship for the first Youth Olympics to be held in Singapore in May. The Federation Cup will be held in Ranchi from May 1 to 4 while Kochi will host the National Open from May 15 to 18. The Junior Federation Cup will be held at Visakhapatnam on May 29 and 30 and boys and girls born on or after May 5, 1990 are eligible to take part. The trials will begin at 7 a.m. and only registered athletes with the registration number allotted by the Kerala State Athletics Association will be allowed to take part.
