Give priority to welfare of ryots, officials told

Kakinada: Zilla Parishad (ZP) chairman Ch Venugopala Krishna exhorted the district officials and people's representatives to give due priority to the welfare of farmers and spread awareness about various welfare schemes available for them. He was addressing the ZP standing committee meetings at the ZP conference hall here on Wednesday.

Mr. Venugopala Krishna has also sought importance to be given to the welfare of weaker sections of society, who continued to be deprived of benefits targeted at them.Youth have to be empowered in real terms as they play a crucial role in development. The Government was extending all possible assistance to them under the new industrial policies to promote entrepreneurship.

Efforts were being made to utilise information technology for public good with focus on providing access to IT to greater number of people in the rural and urban areas. ZP CEO B Bhavani Das and others spoke.
