Police discovered a highly decomposed body inside an empty water tank The girl's minor brother and his two friends were questioned by the police NEW DELHI: Two minors have been detained and their accomplice arrested in connection with the murder of a young man at Anand Parbat here last month. The 20-year-old victim, Bunty, had proposed to the sister of one of the minor accused who along with his friends allegedly murdered him on March 16. The murder came to light when some passers-by complained of a foul smell emanating from an empty water tank in Nehru Nagar and the police discovered a highly decomposed male body inside it. The deceased was identified as Bunty by his father Kalu Ram, a resident of Nehru Nagar, who had reported his son's disappearance a day earlier. During investigation, the police found that Bunty liked a girl and had once proposed to her in the market area in full public view. The girl's family took a strong exception to it and warned Bunty. This pointed the needle of suspicion towards the girl's family. Meanwhile, the police received information that the girl's brother along with his two friends was involved in the murder. The girl's minor brother and his two friends were questioned by the police and they purportedly confessed to having committed the murder. As per the scenario that emerged during their interrogation, the trio called Bunty near a railway track in Daya Basti on March 16 and allegedly attacked him with a razor. The three then allegedly beat him up and pushed him inside the 25-feet-deep empty water tank. The three then climbed down the tank and allegedly strangled him with a piece of cloth. When the young man fell unconscious, the three allegedly disfigured his face so that he could not be identified. One of the accused, Arun alias Bihari (22), is described by the police as a school dropout who has been working at a dental clinic. According to the police, he has a criminal past.
