NEW DELHI: The Delhi and District Cricket Association Sports Secretary Sunil Dev has reacted strongly to the Royal Challengers Bangalore's skipper Anil Kumble's remarks that the Ferozeshah Kotla pitch was not ideal for twenty20 cricket. In a statement on Tuesday, Mr. Dev said, “I strongly refute the allegations and I still maintain that the Kotla is the most sporting wicket in IPL. “The ICC Chief curator Mr. Andy Atkinson had approved the playing facilities at Kotla and certified it fit for T20 cricket. “Analysis of all matches at different venues shows that Kotla actually is the most sporting wicket in the country. “Needless to say that prior to the above match, four games were already played at Kotla on 17, 19, 29 and 31st March 2010 and none of the teams ever complained about the pitch.”
