Students told to observe surroundings

VILLUPURAM: Besides keeping abreast of the latest technologies, the engineering students should also keep a close watch on the surroundings, said R.M. Chandrasekaran, Registrar, Anna University — Tiruchi.
He was delivering the inaugural address at the National technical conference ‘Techcon'10, organised by IFET College of Engineering, here recently. Through observation of the surroundings, the students could get an insight into the changing trends, which in turn would help them to become innovative, Mr. Chandrasekaran said.
V.Prasanna Venkatesan, Reader, Department of Banking Technology, Pondicherry University, in his valedictory address called upon the engineering students to strengthen their knowledge in core areas and make meaningful contributions to the society.
Those who participated on the occasion included College Chairman V.Raja, Vice-Chairman A.Mohamed Ilyas, Secretary K.Shivram Alva, and, Principal S.S.Jayachandran.
