VIJAYAWADA: The Youth Services Department is ready to provide free training to a maximum of 50 candidates who would like to appear for the army recruitment rally to be held for one week from May 3 at Municipal Sports Stadium in Kadapa. The training will be provided for physical fitness test as well as written test. Free food and accommodation will be provided to the candidates during the training period. Those born between May 5, 1987 and November 3, 1992 and having a minimum height of 166 cm and minimum weight of 50 kg are eligible to appear for the army recruitment rally. Those who have passed Intermediate with physics, chemistry and mathematics are eligible to apply for soldier (technical), while those who passed Intermediate with physics, chemistry, biology and English with 50 per cent marks are eligible to apply for soldier (nursing assistant) posts. Candidates who have passed SSC with 45 per cent of marks are eligible to apply for solider (general duty) post, while those who have passed class VIII are eligible for soldier (tradesmen) post. Similarly, those who have passed Intermediate with arts and commerce groups can apply. Interested candidates can apply for the free training by appearing in person at the District Youth Welfare Officer's office at Youth Hostel Building at 8 a.m. on April 13.
