Udhagamandalam: In a bid to relieve pressure on the environment and raise the standard of hygiene and sanitation in this ecologically fragile district, a scheme called the Nilgiris Eco-Sanitation (NEST) Project was launched under the aegis of a non-governmental body the Rural Development Organisation (RDO) and various Mahalir Mutual Benefit Trusts (MMBTs) at Aruvankadu near here on Thursday. Valentine Post, the Key Advisor of WASTE, an NGO based in The Netherlands, inaugurated the project.
