All the manufacturers, dealers and service providers are requested to avail the e-governance facilities like Automation of Central Excise and Service Tax (ACES) and Electronic Accounting System in Central Excise and Service Tax (EASIEST), said the Deputy Commissioner.

Good revenue

The Customs Department has collected about Rs.230 crore revenue, including Rs.107 crore service tax in Nellore and Prakasham districts during the year 2009-10. The officials collected Rs.50 crore service tax from Krishnapatnam Port Company Limited (KPCL) alone, he said. “Due to increase in imports of fertilizer, coal, machinery and sugar to KPCL we are expecting good import duty in the coming years as many power plants and other industries are coming up in Nellore district,” said Mr.Ravindranath.
