IRCTC chartered train to Velankani

HYDERABAD: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd, South Central Zone, will be introducing a chartered train under the brand name ‘Discovery of India' to Velankani and Nagapattinam.

The train will be launched on April 28 and starts from Secunderabad at 12.15 a.m. and returns to Secunderabad on May 2 at 12.15 a.m., V.M.M Rao, Group General Manager, South Central Zone, IRCTC informed.

Tour package

The tour package includes A/C and Non A/C train accommodation, road transport and room accommodations.

The four days-four nights tour package includes train travel, road transport, sight seeing, accommodation, guide services, food on and off board and visit to various places mentioned in the itinerary such as Old Lady Holy Tank, Velankani Beach, other shrines, Old Nagapattinam church, etc.

The cost of the packages, Mr. Rao said, would start from Rs.3,650 (economy) up to Rs.12,500 (luxury).

Medical services

IRCTC will also provide on call medical services for senior citizens he informed. Other packages that were being planned under ‘Discovery of India' from Secunderabad would include Spiritual South package to Madurai, Rameshwaram and Kanyakumari; Enchanting East- Secunderabad-Varanasi-Allahabad-Gaya-Kolkatta-Puri-Bhubaneshwar and Divine Path-Secunderabad-Agra-Delhi-Ajmer.

Other packages that were being offered by IRCTC include State tour packages such as Secunderabad-Tirupati.

The package would include two-way tickets, accommodation, darshan at Tirumala, etc.

Other tours included - Secunderabad- Araku Valley, Secunderabad-Rajahmundry which includes a trip on the Godavari River Cruise or to Konaseema and Secunderabad-Shirdi trip.
