Seminar to focus on ELT

Paper presentation invited on the subject

GUNTUR: A two-day national seminar on “Methods, Materials and Technique of teaching English Language,'' is being conducted by the Department of English, J.K.C College in July.

College principal KVNB Kumar said in a press release on Saturday that the two-day seminar beginning on July 24 was being held in the backdrop of many changes made to syllabus and content of English Language teaching.

Organising secretary V. Pala Prasada Rao extended an open invitation to those wishing to present papers in ‘Emerging trends in English Language Teaching (ELT) and learning, teacher-student interaction and language teaching, the validity and reliability of traditional materials - their role in language learning, the place of authentic materials, techniques of English Language Teaching and learning, learning technologies, task-based language teaching and learning.

Papers are also invited on the topic of ‘Language through literature, communicative competence: theoretical and practical perspectives, oral and written skills, listening and reading skills, the place of grammar, role of English laboratory, ELT in India and the problems and prospects, teacher's role in the classroom, problems of language teaching and aspects of good language teaching.

Original and well-documented papers conforming to MLA Style Sheet will be considered and adjudicated by a team of ELT experts.

The papers should conform to the MLA style sheet (A4 size, singe column, 12 point; Times Roman, single line spacing) not exceeding 3,000 words with an abstract of about 250 words.

Last date

The last date for the submission of articles is May 10. A hard copy and a soft copy of your article should be sent along with the registration fee of Rs.250.
