RPI submits memo to Srikrishna panel

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Republican Party of India (RPI) unit of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday said here that the State should be split into four separate States to empower SCs, STs and minorities.

In a memorandum submitted to the Srikrishna Committee, the party said Andhra, Telangana, Rayalaseema and ‘Manya Seema' or ‘tribal region' should be constituted as separate States. “This will put an end to caste-based political alliances,” State unit president Bojja Tarakam told mediapersons. “The power of upper castes in all regions will weaken.”
