Minister inaugurates high school

NAGAPATTINAM: Over 18 middle schools were converted into high schools in various places in the district, pointed out U. Mathivaanan, Minister for Dairy Development on the inaugural of a high school at Vellapallam in Vedaranyam on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr, Mathivaanan stated that the State government had implemented various schemes to ensure primary education for children.

Middle schools in Aathur, Narimanam, Seruthur,Vadavur were converted into high schools in 2007-08 and the following year, in 2008-09, middle schools in Villiyanallur, Vanadhirajapuram, and Sirkazhi were upgraded to high schools, the Minister stated.

The event witnessed distribution of identity cards for Kalaignar's Health Insurance Scheme. A. Annadurai, District Revenue Officer presided over the inaugural ceremony.
