HYDERABAD: Taking exception to irregularities in the sanction of lease for running medical shops in government hospitals, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is stated to have sought a comprehensive report from officials. The PAC met on Monday under the chairmanship of Nagam Janardhan Reddy at the committee hall on the Assembly premises to take up the subject of medical and health and the Comptroller and Auditor General's reports on it. Explanation sought Sources said some members raised the issue of leases and insisted on a thorough explanation from officials. Some others took objection to the way medical equipment purchased at a high cost was either lying unutilised or misused in some of the government hospitals. When the issue of cases relating to AP Vaidya Vidhana Parishad pending before the courts came up for discussion, the committee members wanted the officials to submit a detailed report. The PAC will meet again tomorrow to discuss the Commercial Taxes Department. Dadi's stand faulted Meanwhile, Dr. Reddy found fault with party MLC Dadi Veerabhadra Rao for his remark that the party legislators from Andhra/ Rayalaseema were not bound by the TDP's resolution favouring separate Telangana adopted in October 2008. He said it was wrong on the part of Mr. Rao to air such views when party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, himself had made it clear that there was no change in the party's stand.
