Collector monitors enumeration of dropouts

SUPERVISION:Collector T. Soundiah monitoring enumeration work of never-enrolled children and school dropouts in Tiruchi city on Monday.

TIRUCHI: Collector T.Soundiah monitored the enumeration of never-enrolled children and school dropouts in the age group of 6 to 14 being carried out under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (Education for all) in Tiruchi corporation area on Monday. he Collector said that the enumeration work began on April 7 in Tiruchi district and pointed out that in the last three days of enumeration on April 7, 8 and 9, the survey had revealed that as many as 917 children were not going to the schools in 448 habitations.

Mr. Soundiah said that during the enumeration at Anna Nagar in the city on Monday, five children including a girl were found in the never-enrolled category. The enumeration would continue till April 20, he said.
