Minorities panel visits riot-hit areas

Hyderabad: Two members of National Commission of Minorities visited the old city on Monday to gather information about the recent communal violence that rocked the city.

Harvender Singh Hanspal and Sayeeda Imam Bilgrami inspected the damaged mosques and also the goshala which was torched during the riots at Shamsheergunj.

P. Mahboob Khan, Assistant Commissioner, Minority Welfare Department and Wakf Board officials accompanied the visiting team. Earlier, Mr. Hanspal and Ms. Bilgrami met the Chief Secretary, S.V. Prasad, DGP, Girish Kumar and Police Commissioner, A.K. Khan.
