Summer vacation programme for children

PUDUCHERRY: To make the summer vacation enjoyable and also a period for creative learning, Jawahar Bal Bhavan of the Directorate of School Education is conducting the annual ‘Kodai Kondattam' from April 16 for school-going children. Those in the age group of six to 16 years studying at government and private schools in Puducherry can participate.

Training in various arts such as drawing, music, dance, craft work and physical education will be conducted on all working days in the forenoon sessions from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. from April 16 to May 31, except on Sundays and government holidays, according to a press release here.

It will be held at the following centres — Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Puducherry, Government Girls Middle School, Lawspet, Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Government High School, Muthialpet, Government Middle School, Ariankuppam, Government Girls High School, Kadirkamam, Government Middle School, Mudaliarpet, SRS Government Higher Secondary School, Saram and Government Middle School, Kariamanikkam.

The directorate has asked students to utilise the opportunity to improve their skills during the vacation. Application forms will be available at the centres from April 16.
