‘Improve quality of education'

Staff Correspondent

Belgaum: M. Anandakrishnan, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT, Kanpur, has advised educational institutions, particularly those offering courses in higher education, to tread a cautious path in the wake of the opening of the education section to foreign players.

Addressing a function organised to mark the fourth foundation day celebrations of the Belgaum-based KLE University here on Tuesday, he said though the institutions in the country were delivering good education, they needed to improve their quality to be truly global.

He also drew attention to major issues confronting higher education in the country and also gave tips to address them.

Later, KLEU Chancellor Prabhakar B. Kore felicitated Prof. Anandakrishnan in recognition of his services in the field of higher education.
