Rain brings relief

KRISHNAGIRI/DHARMAPURI: Sudden rain accompanied by hailstorm in parts of Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri districts on Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon has brought respite for the residents from the soaring mercury during the past fortnight.
The mercury touched 105 centigrade on Monday. It is considered to be highest recorded heat for the past five years, say officials.
Hosur, Shoolagiri and some other parts of Krishnagiri district experienced heavy rain on Tuesday evening for an hour. At the same time, the district headquarters Krishnagiri town and other parts experienced cool breeze on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
In Dharmapuri district, rain with hailstorm occurred in Pennagaram and surrounding areas on Tuesday evening. The district headquarters Dharmapuri town and surrounding areas experienced cool breeze on Wednesday evening.
