Unique ward by-election

NEW DELHI: The polling for the by-election to the GTB Nagar municipal ward would be held between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, the State Election Commission announced here on Saturday. A unique aspect of this election would be that the counting of votes would take place on Sunday itself and the result too would be declared immediately.

A statement issued here said elaborate arrangements have been made for the free and fair conduct of the polls to Ward No-12 GTB Nagar. It said there are six candidates in the fray and polling would take place at 29 polling stations in the ward. Around 200 polling personnel would also be deployed.
