Railway reservations affected

HYDERABAD: There was a temporary disruption in issue of tickets at booking counters across 54 stations of the SCR for over seven hours on Tuesday. An SCR press release blamed it on a “fault” in a BSNL Optic Fibre Cable between Padmaraonagar exchange and Secunderabad Railway Station on Tuesday. Railway reservations were affected from 2.45 a.m. to 10.10 a.m. Current booking across the reservation counters or via internet of SCR will not function from 10.30 p.m. on Tuesday to 2.30 a.m. the following day owing to maintenance works. The Passenger Reservation System will be shutdown during the period for routine maintenance works. Enquiry through passenger operated enquiry terminals (POET) and interactive voice response system (IVRS) will also be affected.
