Director (Operations) LG Polymers S.V. Praveen delivering a lecture at a meeting organised jointly by Business Line Club and Karur Vysya Bank, at VLNS Group of Educational Institutions at Narava near Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.

VISAKHAPATNAM: All efforts of a manager or executive will be of no avail unless the ultimate test of any product – customer satisfaction – is passed, observes Director (Operations) of LG Polymers in the city S.V. Praveen.

Addressing MBA students of the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Educational Trust's group of institutions at Narava village near here on Tuesday at a meeting organised jointly by the Business Line Club and the Karur Vysya Bank, he said that meticulous planning and execution were needed to manufacture products suited to the tastes and requirements of customers. Proper maintenance of machinery and workforce was necessary and “it is much more difficult to handle men that machines,” as attrition of manpower was the biggest challenge faced by HR managers in many industries.

Mr. Praveen advised the students to keep the inner motivation and thirst for knowledge going and they would achieve success despite adverse external circumstances. He said 2008-09 was not a very good year, but the industry was on the recovery path now from the adverse impact of recession.

Opportunities were opening up as the Indian economy was taking off, but the future challenges might also be more difficult to handle. Continuous learning and updating of knowledge were of utmost importance in the circumstances, he said.

Regional General Manager of The Hindu T.V. Suresh, Deputy Manager of Karur Vysya Bank Varaprasad, principal of the college Ch. Divakar, secretary P. Venkateswara Rao and director P. Srinivasa Rao also spoke.
