According to police sources, Utham Chand of Kosapettai, who owns a pawn shop at Maduravoyal, was invited by a person for discussing a business deal. On reaching Koyambedu, the person took Chand on a motorcycle. A little later, two others who followed in another motorcycle, intercepted and threatened Chand at knifepoint to part with his valuables.

Stunt assistants

The victim managed to get off the motorcycle and cried for help. A police patrol team which came that way saw the three suspects chasing Chand and apprehended them. The three suspects were said to be stunt assistants. Further investigation is on.
