Plea to include Telangana heroes' profiles in textbooks
HYDERABAD: The student wing of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has demanded inclusion of the profiles of great Telangana personalities like Komaram Bhim, Doddi Komaraiah and Sarvai Papanna and Chakali Ailamma in textbooks from the next academic year.
A delegation submitted a memorandum to Primary Education Minister Mohd. Ahmadullah Syed here on Monday regretting that these personalities were not focussed in the textbooks even 50 years after the State formation.
The other personalities, whose profiles were sought in the textbooks included Ravi Narayan Reddy, Bandagi, Arutla Ramachandra Reddy, Shoebullah Khan, Ramanand Teertha, Pandit Narendra and poets Pothana, Palakurthi Somana, Bandaru Atchamamba, Baddena, Pampa Kavi, Dasarathi and Kaloji Narayana Rao.
