Welcome showers: Many office-goers were caught unawares in the sudden downpour on Wednesday but none were complaining.

HYDERABAD: What began as a hot day turned out to be wonderful on Wednesday when the rain gods granted the much needed respite for the city-dwellers.

Many office-goers were caught unawares in the sudden downpour, but none were complaining. “I would prefer getting drenched in the rain than baked in the sun,” quipped Dhanush Kumar, a software engineer.

The thunder showers, common in summer, further lowered the day temperature.

The maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday was 40.9 degrees Celsius and minimum 27 degrees Celsius, Met officials informed.

According to the weather forecast, the temperature is expected to hover around 42 degrees Celsius with partly cloudy sky and thundershowers in the coming two days.
