IT spending to grow 14 %

NEW DELHI: Information technology spending in the country will grow 14 per cent in 2010 to $67 billion on the back of increased domestic consumption and investment by the government, research firm Gartner said on Wednesday.

The IT market in India, including computer hardware, software, IT services and telecom was worth $58.7 billion in 2009, Gartner said in a statement. In 2013, the overall IT market will have risen to about $89 billion, posting a compounded annual growth rate of 11 per cent from 2009, it said. — PTI
