KOCHI: Fisheries Minister S. Sarma has said that a high level meeting attended by Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will be held at Thiruvananthapuram shortly to put in place a system to coordinate the activities of various departments for the construction work of the proposed international cricket stadium at Edakochi. He was addressing a meeting held to discuss the topic at Edakochi near here on Thursday. Infrastructure development in the region would be hastened with the setting up of the cricket stadium. As part of this, the stretch of the proposed coastal highway between Edakochi and Thoppumpady would be laid to match the standards of construction of the national highway. District collector M. Beena has been entrusted with preparing a report in this regard. Cochin Port Trust chairman N. Ramachandran has been entrusted with preparing the alignment of the bridge at Kannangattu.
