Fake batteries, chargers seized

MADURAI: The Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR) along with the Video Piracy Cell, Madurai, conducted raids at two places and seized duplicate batteries and chargers of different models of a leading copier brand.

Following complaints, Superintendent of Police (Video Piracy cell, Chennai) Subramanian and DSP Rajendran directed the police to register a case. A search was conducted by Inspector Muthuraj and his team.

According to an EIPR press release, the raids were conducted at two shops on Meenakshi Bazaar and arrested Vinod (23) and Shekhar (42). Based on their confession, police recovered 57 duplicate batteries and 12 chargers.

The goods were seized and cases under Section 65 of Copyright Act, 1957, registered.

Further investigation is under way
