Progress of works reviewed

TIRUNELVELI: Gram Sabha meetings were held in all 425 village panchayats in the district on Saturday in view of ‘May Day' celebrations.

Apart from discussing the progress made in the ongoing development works in their areas, the rural local bodies discussed the identification of genuine beneficiaries under the ‘Kalaignar Housing Scheme' under which permanent houses will be constructed for those living in the huts.

Moreover, the meeting also discussed the developments in the issue of identity cards to the prospective beneficiaries under ‘Kalaignar Health Insurance Scheme for Life Saving Treatments.'

Similar meetings were organised in 408 village panchayats in Tuticorin district also.

District Collector (In-Charge) D. Ravichandran participated in the gram sabha meeting at Melathattappaarai panchayat.
