COIMBATORE: Kumaraguru College of Technology has set up a Mahatma Gandhi Study Centre to provide study material for students who want to conduct research on him. According to a release, the centre has a photo gallery consisting of more than 100 photographs of Gandhi showcasing important events of his life. Books and compact discs of his works are on display. Books written on Gandhi by various authors are also available. Tributes paid to him by popular persons like Martin Luther King, Albert Einstein, Lord Richard Attenborough, and Jawaharlal Nehru, are also housed. There are as many as 295 books in English and 45 in Tamil. The centre is headed by A. Kulandaivel, Advisor of the college. N. Markandan is the co-ordinator and C.S. Ramakrishnan is the instructor. They have plans to increase the number of books of compact discs, give students exposure to village problems, and set up Shanti Sena Volunteers Group.
