PUDUCHERRY: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has urged the government to obtain additional power from the Central grid to tackle shortage in Puducherry.
There were frequent power cuts in the last two years and no steps were being taken to obtain electricity from the Central grid or generate power as per the needs of the increasing population, expansion of urban and rural areas and industries, a release said. The CPI(M) urged the government to encourage generation of power from alternative sources keeping in mind future requirements.
