Collector distributes community certificates

To get assistance:Collector C. Samayamoorthy handing
Tirupur: Collector C. Samayamoorthy gave away community certificates to 162 children ahead of the coming academic year, at a function conducted by the revenue administration here on Monday.
Official sources said that the certificates would enable the beneficiary children to easily obtain various welfare assistance extended by the government for different communities.
Of the 162 children, 91 belonged to Scheduled Castes community, 51 from Backward Classes and 20 from Most Backward Classes.
The children were students of Panchayat Union Middle Schools at Mangalam, Ponnapuram and Chenganaickenpalayam and Mudalipalayam, and of three private schools in Tirupur, Velampalayam and Thottipalayam. Later, Mr. Samayamoorthy gave away financial assistance worth Rs. 2.6 lakh to 26 widows, under a government scheme. District Revenue Officer K. V. Muralitharan was present.
