Kozhikode: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala has said that the ‘formula' for the merger of the Kerala Congress (M) and Kerala Congress (J) is a creation of the media. He said here on Tuesday that a meeting among Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy, Indian Union Muslim League State general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty and himself had decided to stick to the earlier stand that the merger had to be discussed in the United Democratic Front. He said Mr. Chandy had stated the position of the Congress on the merger and there was nothing more to add to it. Regarding Kerala Congress(M) leader K.M. Mani excusing himself from a delegation to New Delhi, Mr. Chennithala said he was not going with the delegation either and knew nothing more about it.
