Airtel donates traffic barricades

Best traffic management will be made available in Kurnool, says DIG

KURNOOL: DIG of Police Anil Kumar received the traffic barricades donated by Bharati Airtel here on Tuesday. Additional SP Ravindra Naik, Deputy SP Ramnath, CEO of Airtel Sharlin Thyali and others were present.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Anil Kumar said all measures would be taken to effectively manage the traffic on city roads which increased manifold in the recent times. Men would be deployed in sufficient numbers so that best traffic management would be available within the means available.

He appreciated Airtel for providing 50 stoppers which would be of immense use in traffic management.

Mr. Thyali said Airtel made similar donation at Hyderabad and Vijayawada.

Meanwhile, Ranganayakulu, Inspector of traffic station, urged the DIG to sanction a second traffic police station for Kurnool city in view of the growing traffic.

He said the present staff pattern was made keeping in view the requirement before the year 2000 which became unmanageable now.

He said special plan was needed in view of the location of two National Highways in the city.
