Inspector booked on corruption charges
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: A police inspector has been booked by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police on charges of corruption, extortion, forgery and other offences following a vigilance inquiry into the allegations against him. He has not been arrested yet.
The case against Inspector Shashi Kant Gaur was registered two days ago on the directions of Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal, following a damning vigilance inquiry report against him. The complaint was lodged by Anil Kumar Jaiswal, a resident of Geeta Colony.
In his complaint, Anil alleged that he was framed by Shashi Kant, who was then a sub-inspector, in a vehicle theft case in December 2003.
