VIJAYAWADA: The Department of Posts in association with Reliance Money Limited and the World Gold Council is selling gold coins of 24 carat with India Post logo through four post offices in Vijayawada division and five post offices in Guntur division from Thursday onwards. The coins will be available in 0.5 gram, 1 gram, 5 gram and 8 gram, with 24 carat and 99.99 per cent purity, in tamper proof packs minted by Valcambi Sa Switzerland. The coins carry internationally recognised certification, said Sarada Sampath, Postmaster-General, Vijayawada, on Wednesday. She said on the occasion of ‘Akshaya Tritiya,' a special discount of six per cent will be given on actual cost for the purchases made between May 6 and 31. The coins will be available in the following post offices. Vijayawada head post office (0866-2425649), Buckinghampet post office (0866-2574494), Venkateswarapuram sub post office (0866-2476299), Gandhinagaram sub post office (0866-2575498), Guntur head post office (0863-2255971), Chandramoulinagar sub post office (0863-2255975), Guntur collectorate sub post office (0863-2255983), Kothapet sub post office (0863-2253040) and Guntur Bazaar sub post office (0863-2255981).
