State delegation leaves for Washington

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Rosaiah has sought sister-state relations between Andhra Pradesh and Washington State in the US for mutual benefit in areas of industries, commence and trade.

“There are many perceptible similarities between Washington and Andhra Pradesh”, he said.

Speaking to a delegation of representatives from corporate and social sectors, which later left for Washington led by Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar here on Wednesday, he wanted the delegation to showcase Andhra Pradesh in America in all its bright aspects, including the phenomenal industrial growth achieved.

The delegation, which comprised Sam Bob, Principal Secretary, Industries, J. A. Choudary, co-chairman, FICCI, T. Y. Collin, MD, American Chamber, is expected to explore possibilities of developing ties in the fields of education and culture too.

The Chief Minister wanted the delegation to extend his greetings to the people of Washington and highlight the great strides made by Andhra Pradesh in different spheres, particularly in the field of agriculture.
