Centre to take up Polavaram issue

HYDERABAD: Union Water Resources Minister P.K. Bansal has assured that the Economic and Expenditure Committee of the Union Government will take up the issue of implementing Polavaram as a national project after the close of the ongoing Parliament session on May 7.

He gave this assurance when Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah met him in his Parliament office on Wednesday. Once the committee deliberated the issue, the matter would be taken up in the Union Cabinet meeting, Mr Bansal said.
